Episode Notes

EPISODE FIVE – “Boy Bands”: First off, a shout-out to the one-and-only Jake Ralston for the great introduction! And a big thanks to James White (@jamescagewhite) for his high-energy start to each show.

Welcome, everyone, to Episode Five. I know you have many places to find music; thank you for supporting this show; I promise to make the hour worth your time.

I’ll be honest, I didn’t start out this week thinking I’d do a show on boy bands, and due to my old age, I’ve already forgotten what prompted me to do this theme. Researching and producing this show was a lot of fun. It let me stroll down memory lane to some classic songs, and had me learn some tunes, and some bands, I had never experienced before.

Today’s playlist is in chronological order, starting with 1970 and ending in 2020. I know I did not include every possible boy band from that 50 year span, but I feel like I’ve got most of the major players! Also, I had contemplated including the Monkees or the Beatles, but those gents were already in their 20’s when they hit it big; and I don’t know if that counts as a “”boy band””. I’ll save their hits for another episode.

There are a couple bands I could not include on this show, due to licensing issues. You can’t here them on the show, but you can check out YouTube videos for Hanson and Menudo!

Do you have boy band favorites that are not in this show’s playlist? I’d be glad to add some to future episodes!
